Saw Avatar tonight with Mujia, Alex, Kristina and Rahi. We wanted the imax show but sold out by 2 in the afternoon so I went for a 3D ones at 10:45, last showing.

The movie did a very good job in sucking you into the world James Cameron created for the viewers and just seeing all the nice concept brought to life maybe me imagine just how nice the concept arts must have been, although the movie was quite long I never once cared about that I was too interested in the characters and the story unfolding. And yes like people said it does feel like "Dances With Wolves" kind of story, it felt like a classic story told in a different way, time and setting. I loved it! if this is where 3D is heading to in films I'm very excited to see what's to come and excited to learn all about 3D.

Water Gal

Nothing much today just some old sketch I did, put some colour down fairly quickly.

Z- Day

So I was working on this the past few days (and playing left 4 dead 2 maybe...) It was for a dA contest about the End of Days, and of course my end of day scenerio would be zombie apocalypse,I always been fascinated by Zombie Apocalypse movies and stories, hard to explain why…I guess it’s the thought of our society falling with the fall of men and the raise of a new virus that would rule the world was always a interesting concept to me.

So I posted my process stage, from rough (VERY ruff) to lines, to colours, I sometimes work super rough like that so i can capture my ideas faster without paying attention to details, if I start to think details I'll started putting too much lines down and lose the overall feeling.

Theme: Vehicles

Today the cycle is back to me, so I picked the theme Vehicles, mainly because I hardly see anyone us drawing them, so I thought I would pick something we rarely touch. My idea was some sort a vehicle put together from a junk yard world...started with a Cadillac look and ended with a tank?... def not my strength...

Theme: Super Villain Turtle

Today's theme picked by Nate is Super Villain Turtle...I think he has a fetish for the Koopa Troopers from Super Mario Bros...but sure made for a fun session and some cool results by adding "super villain" + "turtle". Mine I guess was influenced by TMNT and used a snapper turtle for reference...but damn his arm are sure big, he could fight Godzilla for sure.

Theme: Where is Jon Suh?

Today's theme was picked by Vince and it was "Where is Jon Suh?", I guess I'll have to explain who he is, Jon was one of our classmate and friend at Sheridan and towards the end of last year or early this year we lost contact with him...again...yes it has happened before (first time we lost him to World of Warcraft I believe). With no ideas on where he could be, 'till this day it remains a mystery.

So the objective was to draw out what we thought he could be doing, it was a lot harder than it sounded but the results were very interesting and ammusing from missing milk cartons to going back home to North Korea to just spending time with himself and/or playing videogames. I personally restarted on the last 10 mins because I wasn't liking what I had for my initial idea.

Doodling a Charger

Needed a break...

The Charger: seems to mumble gibberish to himself a lot, and seems to like tackleling ppl like a bowling ball on pins.

Sucks to miss their football tackles with these guys in Left 4 Dead 2 but when it hits it's soooo sweet.

Don't Talk to Creepy Oldmen

Was tired of drawing/painting for the day, so I used the lasso tool on PS and started to play around, u can get some very interesting silhouette at first try, then add some detail to it after.

Today's theme picked by Flora was Baby Animal, a lot of cute entries today, by the end I sorta wish I drew a baby turtle seeing how by the end I realised I didn't know how the back leg of a dog sat properly. Today Bonnie and Vince joined out session, Chienyu went MIA probably because no work tomorrow.

Antichrist Directed by Lars Von Trier

Saw this film over the weekend wth my buddies, after the film I wasn't sure what to feel but it definately left an impact with us and I thought it was both beautiful and horroficlly disturbing, some girl behind us had a real shocking reaction to one of the scenes, she yelled out "JEEZ FUCKING JESUS!!" I couldn't agree more...it was very appropriate at that time.

Today's theme was Circus, natually I think clowns or elephants haha, again 1 hour time limit but Chienyu had to overtime at work so all he did was a 5 mins sketch, I still included his sketch cuz it's pretty cool, and he was the only one that went for acrobats (well flora went for bear performer too haha)and I think Flora did her's in about half an hour before she had to leave.

Black Creature

Due to my failure to come up with any good monster ideas on todays drawing session I felt like I had to tackle the theme again by myself. Started as a black blob of brush struck and ended up like so.

Theme: Monsters/Creatures

Today's theme for the drawing session was monsters/creatures another theme we rarely touch, I guess anything that wasn't human or robots was ok, this was def a challege for most of us, as for me I went from trying to draw a mean looking were-wolf...to a cute tribal pig and elephant -_- I'll need to practice this theme more. Everyone else did a great job on tackling the theme. I def would like to revisit this theme again another time.

Theme: Sci-fi

Another drawing session today with Chienyu, the theme was sci-fi, and Flora and Scott joined us too in our 1 hour session, sci-fi being another one of those genres we rarely touch it was interesting to see how sci-fi turned out for everyone. The styles are all pretty different but still all fit withing the theme, very fun exercise because we get to see ideas that we didn't even come to us and what sci-fi meant to each induvidual.
