Gerry was my last Life Drawing teacher before I graduated from the BAA Animation program in 2008, I think we were actually lucky enough to be Gerry's last class before he left Sheridan.
I found out last year that he was suffering from terminal cancer, and for months his wife was passing on all the well wishes to to Gerry from Facebook to him, he passed away on May 20Th 2010, I was always afraid to disappoint Gerry which in turn made me try harder in life drawing, my final year in school with him was the year I came out with the best life drawings and I owe it all to him for pushing us all so hard and telling it like it is when it sucked. He was a great teacher that passed on his knowledge to many students, and touched many lives in the process, he has definitely left a great legacy in his life time, I hope his teachings and knowledge will be passed on by us to the a next generation of artist.
